The purpose of life is not to be happy – but to matter, to be productive, to be useful, to have it make some difference that you have lived at all.  ~Leo Rosten

I love this quote, but I believe that being productive is a nice catalyst for designing happiness in your life.

Happiness for me centers around all the things I’m passionate about and productive for:  my family, my faith, learning something new every day, and being insanely committed to helping others. Over the years, I’ve tried on various hats trying to figure out which fit best.  Turns out, they all fit pretty well, and they all make me happy … so I continue to remain involved in different mediums, industries, projects and adventures.

As a mom, I love finding new ideas that will help my kids grow up to be inspiring, generous, and all around amazing people.  From a lineage of seamstresses (mom, aunts, grandmother), I’ve been crafting all my life.  I look for creative + crafty projects we can do as a family, and love to share any tips and tricks I find along the way that others might find helpful. My husband and I are true DIYers; every weekend is a project in the works and we’re always looking for something new.

In my freelance role as a branding and communications professional, I help people and companies tell their stories. This might be as simple as coaching someone on how to use social media as a tool to enhance their business, to creating a name + website + messaging around their identity.  I love showing people creative ways to reach the right audience in order to communicate the perfect story.  In December 2011 I took a new professional role as a Brand Manager with a fabulous technology company that moved our family to Raleigh, North Carolina, but still continue to work on freelance projects as they arise.

I’m happy you’re here – please leave a comment to let me know you stopped by.  And by all means, feel free to reach out with ideas, inquiries, or just to say ‘hi’.
